Annual non-prorated membership year runs October 1st through September 30th of the following year. Individual dues are $15. Additional household members can join for only $2 each. Members benefits in the organization include voting, checking out library resources, and organization activities. Individuals may join at meetings or by printing the form below and returning with payment to the Membership Secretary.
Member Spotlight
Heather McCain
Heather is one of the newest member of out society. She joined in April of this year along with her mom, Pam Thompson. In September she gave a program on Missouri's famous Chouteau family, and what she found when researching her husband's California roots. Heather grew up, in Missouri, on land her family has farmed for 147 years. She recently returned to this state after being a military spouse moved her away for 16 years.
Q. Why did you become interested in genealogy? What do you love most about it? A. My grandpa was doing research on his family so he could join the Sons of the American Revolution. I love traveling to the places my ancestors lived. Q. How long have you been researching your ancestry? A. With my grandpa, about 30 years. Seriously on my own, 16 years.
Q. Who is the most distant ancestor you've found? A. Heinrich Wampfler born 1590.
Q. What is your most interesting find? A. All the overlap I have found in the lives of mine and my husbands families, and finally seeing our family trees grow together.
Q. Of course we all have a ever growing list of names to comb through, but what are your primary names of interest? A. Henness, Dever, Thompson, Johnston, Duffer, Crane, Ziegler, Wampler, Chouteau, McCain
Q. What current projects are you working on? A. Source siting my research, and a families connection project of Knob Noster Cemetery.
Q. Any other interests and hobbies? A. History, travel, scrapbooking, and reading. All things that go great with genealogy! I also love all things Missouri State Fair and State Parks.
Q. Finally, what did you name your family tree/story? A. I've already done this for my family page. Branches Un(limb)ited. lol Because I don't know where to stop!
